1. A high-rise building partially collapsed early Thursday morning in Surfside, killing at least one person while at least 99 are uncounted for. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency in Miami-Dade County. (NEWS CENTER)

2. Nearly all COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. now are in people who weren’t vaccinated. Only about 150 of the more than 18,000 COVID-19 deaths in May were in fully vaccinated people. That translates to about 0.8 percent. 98 percent to 99 percent of the Americans dying of the coronavirus are unvaccinated. (PRESS HERALD)

3. On Thursday Nicholas Mitchell of New Hampshire pleaded guilty to putting razor blades in Pizza Dough at Hannaford. As part of a plea agreement, Mitchell will accept a sentence of up to 4 years and nine months in prison. (PRESS HERALD)

4. The Biden administration has extended the nationwide ban on evictions until July 31 to help tenants who are unable to make rent payments during the coronavirus pandemic. This is intended to be the final extension. (WMTW)
