1. Brian Laundrie is now a wanted man by the feds. An arrest warrant has been issued but NOT for his fiancée, Gabby Petito’s death. Investigators say Laundrie used an unauthorized debit card with the intent to defraud. The indictment allows the feds to take Laundrie into custody, that is, if they can find him. (PEOPLE)
2. The law enforcement community in Maine and beyond is mourning the loss of one of their own Thursday night.. Hancock County Deputy Luke Gross died in the line of duty Thursday morning in Trenton when he was hit and killed by another vehicle. (WGME)
3. Maine reported 2,080 cases of COVID-19 and 72 outbreaks in schools in the past 30 days. School cases are forcing hundreds, if not thousands, of students to quarantine at home, often without the option of attending classes remotely.
4. Twenty of the horses seized from a farm in Springvale in July are now ready for adoption.The farm’s owner had more than 50 animals in need of rescue, including 20 horses, two pigs, six dogs, six cats, two geckos, three rats, and one bearded dragon. The other animals that were seized are now at local shelters and she has a lifetime animal possession ban. (WGME)
