1. Most of Maine will see 6-12” of snow in the upcoming nor’easter. Totals down east a bit lower and totals in western Maine a bit higher. Snow will start Monday afternoon and evening in York and Cumberland counties. (NEWS CENTER)

2. The U.S. tops 26.1 million covid-19 cases with over 441,000 deaths. The Maine CDC reported no new deaths and 156 new cases on Sunday keeping Maine’s death toll at 590. Over 38,000 Mainers have received both doses of their vaccination. (WMTW)

3. Starting today, Maine businesses can start staying open later. The nightly curfew imposed by Governor Janet Mills has expired. Mills says this is a sign that Maine is “rounding the corner” of the post-holiday coronavirus surge. (WGME)

4. Sunday a dozen teachers from Reiche Elementary School in Portland ran into the ocean for a polar plunge at Portland’s East End Beach. Kristen Fox, a 3rd-grade teacher, told WGME that “swimming… was her way of showing the students struggling with the pandemic that they will get through this year together.” (WGME)

5. Because of COVID concerns, Coachella and Stagecoach festivals planned for April 2021 have been cancelled for the third time. No word yet on when the festivals will be rescheduled. (THE VERGE)
