1. Dr. Anthony Fauci, made some projections Sunday on CNN. Fauci said that he could see Americans still needing to wear masks going into 2022, yet stressed that we can expect to see a significant improvement in normalcy by the end of 2021. (NEWS CENTER)
2. The U.S. tops 28.1 million covid-19 cases while it nears the milestone of a half a million deaths. The Maine CDC reported no new deaths and 130 new cases on Sunday keeping Maine’s death toll at 658 with 71 Mainers currently hospitalized. (WMTW)
3. Portland’s Racial Equity Steering Committee is calling for more oversight and a new city department to address racial bias in city policies. The Committee appointed by Mayor Kate Snyder and City Council as a result of Black Lives Matter demonstrations, is expected to deliver a report at today’s council meeting. (WMTW)
4. Fiber Materials Inc in Biddeford did it’s part to help discover ancient life on Mars. They helped produce the heat shield for NASA’s “Perseverance” rover which landed on the planet last week. (WGME)
5. As a result of the pandemic, Arcadia National Bar in Portland, has been closed for almost a year now. This weekend a GoFundMe was created to help them move into the old Port City Music Hall space, which is better suited for social distancing.
