1. Marking a return by the U.S. to global climate efforts after four years of withdrawal under President Donald Trump, President Joe Biden will open a global climate summit today with a pledge to cut U.S. fossil fuel emissions up to 52% by 2030. (AP)

2. The U.S. tops 31.8 million covid-19 cases with more than 569,000 related deaths. The Maine CDC reported one new death and 500 new cases on Wednesday bringing Maine’s death toll to 768 with 110 Mainers currently hospitalized. Nearly 33% of Mainers have received their final dose of a covid vaccine. (WMTW)

3. People who want to be vaccinated and use mass transportation in southern Maine may now access an online interactive map to find COVID-19 vaccine providers throughout Cumberland and York counties. You can find the map on transittogether.org (PRESS HERALD)

4. The City of Portland hired five local artists to design “barricade jackets” with Maine-inspired themes. The work will be on display throughout the summer and fall on street closure barricades in Portland. (WGME)

5. Maine’s king of horror has his own virtual film festival and it starts Friday on youtube. It’s called Stephen King Rules and features 25 films based on King’s unpublished stories. King has a program that allows filmmakers to use his unpublished short stories as a screenplay for $1. (WGME)
