1.Every day this week, a new record number of COVID patients in Maine hospitals is set. The new record set Wednesday is 226. Maine Med says a staggering 90 percent of their COVID patients are unvaccinated. (WGME)

2. The FDA officially recommended emergency use authorization on Wednesday for a third dose of Pfizer’s vaccine for seniors and others at high risk from COVID. The CDC will meet today to consider the recommendation. (WMTW)

3. Officials in RSU21 are encouraging students to not attend a homecoming dance that was privately organized for Kennebunk High School students. The high school decided against a dance this year because of COVID-19 transmission concerns. One organizer said they’ve already sold 150 tickets for the parent organized dance. (PRESS HERALD)

4. Fans attending Bruins and Celtics games in the upcoming season will need to be vaccinated or provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test. The mandate goes into effect 9/30 and applies to all events at TD Garden, including concerts. (BOSTON)

Ben & Jerry’s officially debuted their newest Limited Batch Flavor, “Change is Brewing.” (cold brew coffee ice cream paired with marshmallow swirls and the quintessential fudge brownies) They teamed up with three Black-owned businesses for the ingredients and artwork. A portion of the proceeds from sales are going to grassroots groups working to transform public safety in America. (CHEWBOOM)
