2. The U.S. tops 28.1 million covid-19 cases surpassing the milestone of a half a million deaths. The Maine CDC reported no new deaths and 97 new cases on Monday keeping Maine’s death toll at 658 with 72 Mainers currently hospitalized. (WMTW)
3. Portland Police have hired three new people to help it improve community relations. The new hires for alternative response liaison, substance use disorder liaison, and media and community relations liaison were announced Monday. (WMTW)
4. Cinemagic has announced their Saco, South Portland, and Westbrook theatres will stay closed for good. Early this month the NH based chain announced they would be taking an intermission until spring. (WMTW)
5. Bill’s Pizza on Commercial Street in Portland will serve its last slices this weekend, but the Holy Donut plans to take over the space. In October, The Holy Donut pulled out of its spot on Exchange Street due to the pandemic’s impact on downtown. (PRESS HERALD)
