2. The U.S. tops 29.9 million covid-19 cases with more than 543,000 related deaths. The Maine CDC reported 2 new deaths and 131 new cases on Tuesday bringing Maine’s death toll to 731 with 79 Mainers currently hospitalized. Over 222,000 Mainers have received their final COVID-19 vaccine dose, which represents more than 16.5% of the population. (WMTW)

3. Principals have released plans that call for 2 days a week of in-person learning starting April 12 at Deering and Portland high schools, and April 5 at Casco Bay High. (PRESS HERALD)

4. Maine Maple Sunday is this weekend. Governor Janet Mills ceremoniously tapped the Blaine House maple tree Tuesday to celebrate the start of Maine’s maple sugaring season. (WGME)
