1. President Biden set a new vaccination goal to deliver at least one dose to 70% of adult Americans by July 4. Already more than 56% of adult Americans have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and nearly 105 million are fully vaccinated. (WMTW)

2. The U.S. tops 32.5 million covid-19 cases with more than 578,000 related deaths. The Maine CDC reported no new deaths and 417 new cases on Tuesday keeping Maine’s death toll at 790 with 128 Mainers currently hospitalized. Nearly 40% of Mainers have been fully vaccinated. (WMTW)

3. The Maine CDC announced Tuesday that non-Maine residents are now eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine in Maine, effective immediately. (NEWS CENTER)

4. Cinco De Mayo – Today marks the day of the Mexican army’s victory over the French in 1862. The Battle of Puebla occurred while America was embroiled in civil war: Mexicans living in the United States found strength in celebrating the victory against the French in their native country. These celebrations eventually became a huge part of American culture, with the largest celebrations occurring in Los Angeles.
