1. The United States coronavirus cases top 671,00: America’s death toll stands at more than 33,000. In a turnabout from his Monday claim that “the President of the United States calls the shots” in how to ease restrictions, Trump told governors Thursday it’s their decision on when and how to reopen their states. 2. Three more Mainers have died from coronavirus-related complications, bringing the total to 27. There have been 796 coronavirus cases reported in 15 Maine counties as of Thursday. 130 people have been hospitalized at some point during their illness and 333 people have recovered. Community transmission is now occurring in Androscoggin county in addition to Cumberland, York, and Penobscot. (WGME)

3. Governor Janet Mills signed an Executive Order Thursday that will prevent the immediate eviction of tenants other than those who engage in dangerous or unlawful conduct during the coronavirus crisis. In partnership with MaineHousing, Mills also announced a new rental assistance relief program for Mainers who can’t pay their rent due to COVID-19. (NEWS CENTER MAINE)

4. The first Maine woman to go to space is back home as NASA’s Expedition 62 comes to a successful end. Maine astronaut Doctor Jessica Meir landed safely in Kazakhstan this morning after spending 205 days in space aboard the International Space Station. She and astronaut Christina Koch performed the first all-female spacewalk in history on October 19, 2019. (NEWS CENTER MAINE)

5. Dating apps like Tinder, Grindr and Bumble are seeing surges in memberships and downloads since people have been in quarantine around the country. Tinder had weekly traffic averaging around 9.3 million users, but that traffic has risen to 10.2 million. On March 29 alone, Tinder users swiped profiles three billion times. Grindr and Bumble have seen similar bumps in use. (TMZ)
