1. The seven-day daily average of new Covid-19 cases in Maine rose to 553 yesterday, which is up from 462 cases two weeks ago and 368 cases on average this time last month. As of Thursday, 233 individuals were in the hospital with COVID-19 in Maine

2. The state is reversing course, choosing to exempt some Maine health care workers from the coronavirus vaccine mandate. This final version of the vaccine mandate does not include dental workers and EMS workers although many EMS workers are covered by a separate mandate.

3. York County Jail is turning away new inmates because of concerns about COVID-19. People who were told to report to the jail on September 8 or later have seen their sentences delayed until at least early December. Many weren’t notified their sentences were changed until arriving to check in.

4. Arby’s is releasing two limited-edition vodkas with curly fry and crinkle fry flavor profiles. The chain said, “A potato-based liquor was a natural extension of the roast beef sandwich and fry menu for which Arby’s is known.” These 80-proof vodkas will be available on November 18th and 22nd for $60 a bottle at ArbysVodka.com.

5. The Maine Celtics will play their first home game of the season, and first game at the Portland Expo since March 8, 2020, when they take on Delaware at 7 p.m in the first pro basketball game there in 614 days.
