  1. The Maine House of Representatives has a new leader, and it is historic – Rep. Rachel Talbot Ross will become the next Speaker, the first Black legislator to ever hold the position in Maine.  She will also be the fourth woman to serve as Speaker. (WMTW)

 

  1. All schools in Yarmouth are closed today after an online threat, according to school district officials. The superintendent received a call from the Yarmouth Police Department saying that an online threat had been made against the schools. (PH)

 

  1. A 65 year old Westbrook woman is charged with aggravated trafficking, accused of selling marijuana, marijuana edibles, and flavored vape products to minors. With a search warrant officers found evidence of marijuana trafficking, a firearm, as well as hundreds of vape pens, flavored inserts and other tobacco products. (WMTW)

  

  1. Portland officials say they’ve ordered contractors to reopen Free Street to traffic by the end of business Wednesday following months of delays on work at one of the city’s busiest intersections. The road has been closed since April. (PH)
