1. The search for 14-year-old Theo Ferrara of Freeport who disappeared last week continued Sunday with aircraft resources. The search area is mainly focused near Ferrara’s home in wooded areas in the area of Flying Point Road in Freeport.

2. Maine has opted out of a $440 million multistate settlement with Juul Labs in objection to certain conditions. Maine would have received roughly $11 million. But Maine was not willing to agree to Juul’s condition that would have barred school districts from suing the company.

3. Central Maine Power is sending crews to Canada to support power restoration efforts following Hurricane Fiona. At its peak, Fiona left more than 500,000 Canadians without power.

4. The first fall statewide poll favors Mills over Lepage in Maine’s governor race. Overall, Mills is preferred by 53% of “very likely” Maine voters and LePage by 41%

5. The Moose hunt in Northern Maine begins today. Staggered, moose hunting season opens for different zones through Nov. 26. In all 4,080 hunting permits have been issued. Last year 65 percent of moose hunters killed a moose.
