1. Sen. Susan Collins joined Republican colleagues Wednesday in questioning attorneys as the president’s impeachment trial moved to a new phase. Collins is seen as a possible swing vote who could join Democrats in voting for witness testimony to be included in the trial. (PRESS HERALD)

2. Lawmakers from Maine are helping lead a charge for an increase of a cap on work visas this year. The lawmakers said low unemployment and growing demand for H-2B visa workers have created a need for more of the visas. Visas are especially important in the state because of the role they play in its tourism industry. (WGME)

3. Stella Hang, a sixth-grader from Portland, is among 32 winners of a nationwide search for kids to appear in an NFL commercial and attend the Super Bowl. The NFL selected Stella Hang, 12, of Portland after viewing a highlight package of her playing flag football. Hang is the only youngster selected from New England and will represent the Patriots. 4. As the coronavirus makes news, Google searches for “beer virus” and “Corona beer virus” have spiked worldwide over the past week. But don’t worry, beer lovers: The coronavirus has nothing to do with the Mexican lager.In the U.S., the biggest increases in “beer virus” searches have been in Nevada, Arizona and Connecticut. (CBS)
