1. The United States coronavirus cases near 1 Million. America’s death toll stands at more than 56,200. That’s more than a quarter of all deaths worldwide. (CNN)

2. As of Monday’s Maine CDC briefing another Mainer has died from coronavirus bringing the state’s total to 51. There have been 1,023 cases reported in all 16 Maine counties. 161 people have been hospitalized. 549 Mainers have recovered. Officials caution that the number of cases in Maine is actually significantly higher because many individuals with symptoms are not being tested. (WGME)

3. Portland City Council says workers who directly interact with the public through their jobs must wear a mask or face covering. City councilors also extended the city’s emergency declaration and city-wide stay-at-home order to May 18. This is separate from the state’s stay-at-home order, which expires this Thursday unless Gov. Janet Mills decides to extend it. (WGME)

4. On Monday Gov. Mills approved the sale of ‘cocktails to go’ at bars and restaurants in the state. The sale of beverages by bars and restaurants must be accompanied by a food order and a container of cocktails cannot exceed four and a half ounces of spirits. (NEWS CENTER MAINE)

5. The Department of Defense authorized the official release of three unclassified videos on Monday that all appear to show UFOs in the sky. The footage was originally brought to mainstream attention by Tom DeLonge’s To the Stars Academy of Arts and Science. DOD released the videos “to clear up any misconceptions on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real.” The aerial phenomena documented in the footage remains “unidentified.” (COMPLEX)
