1. Gov. Mills called the White House and Maine will now receive nearly double the ration of COVID-19 treatments. Maine has been getting a smaller allocation of monoclonal antibody treatment because of a backlog of positive tests
2. Portland is asking for help as the growing number of asylum seekers stretches resources. Using 10 hotels in addition to its two shelters the city is providing shelter each night to about 1,150 people. That’s more than double 2019.
3. Lewiston Public Works crew is being credited with saving the life of a man who cut off his own arm. Two of the crew are arborists and actually train others on chainsaw safety and how to do tourniquets.
4. Mainer, Sophia Laukli, was named to the U.S. Olympic Cross Country Team that will compete in the Beijing Games next month. Laukli graduated from Yarmouth High School in 2018.
