1. A motorcyclist is dead after crashing into a school bus on Route 202 in Gorham. The bus was taking the Windham High field hockey team to its match.

2. A South Portland student is out of the hospital after he was dragged for a half-mile by a car Monday. The boy was being dropped off at home by his classmate’s sister. When the car drove off, the boy’s thumb was closed in the door.

3. The University of New England received a $6.6 million grant from the National Eye Institute to study ocular pain. A team will be studying the impact nerves in the eye have on both physical and emotional pain.

4. Elon Musk has told bankers his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter will be completed by Friday. According to The Washington Post, Musk plans to lay off 75% of current Twitter employees when he takes over the platform.

5. Beyond Meat has introduced Beyond Meat steak tips. They’re made from a blend of ingredients, including fava beans and wheat gluten and “deliver the taste and texture of sliced steak.” This comes after the company announced a 19% workforce reduction and saw the departure of COO Doug Ramsey who was arrested for biting a man’s nose.
