(Entertainment) Amy Schumer Responds To Trolls

FILE - In this Jan. 17, 2016 file photo, Amy Schumer accepts the Critics' Choice MVP award at the 21st annual Critics' Choice Awards in Santa Monica, Calif. The 2016 election has provoked a visceral, intense response from many in the arts community, prompting songs, videos and uncommon ferocity against Trump, arguably once one of their own. During one of her shows, Schumer called him an "orange, sexual-assaulting, fake college-starting monster,” and her diatribe caused some to walk out. (Photo by Chris Pizzello/Invision/AP, File)

Amy Schumer’s new hour-long stand up set, Amy Schumer: The Leather Special, was recently released on Netflix and has faced multitudes of apparent negative reviews. Since the special was released on March 7th, The Leather Special has received an onslaught of 1-star reviews. However, Amy explained on Instagram that the poor reviews are the work of “the alt-right organized trolls” that frequently post on Reddit. Amy said, “The alt-right organized trolls attack everything I do. They organize to get my ratings down. They tried on my book (The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo) and movies and TV show. And I want to thank them.”

Amy further explained why her haters are truly her motivators. “It makes me feel so powerful and dangerous and brave. It reminds me what I’m saying is effective and brings more interest to my work and their obsession with me keeps me going. …Call me a whale. Call me a thief and I will continue to rise and fight and lead.”
