The 95th Academy Awards took place on Sunday. Maine Made!! Maine Winners!! Gorham native, Eric Saindon was a member of a four-man team that won an Oscar in the visual effects category for their work on Avatar: The Way of Water. Saindon graduated from Gorham High in 1988. Sunday’s nomination was his third but first win!

Some of the items in the gift bags that even the losers took home included: a free facial rejuvenation procedure / a shaman reading / an Italian getaway on an island / a stay at an estate in Canada / fertility supplements.
