Nike is suing MSCHF Product Studio, the company that collaborated with Lil Nas X to produce the ‘Satan Shoe’ that’s causing so much controversy. The shoes were created in collaboration with MSCHF and they were made using the NikeAir Max ’97. The most controversial feature of the shoes is the drop of human blood that is part of them. 666 pairs of the shoes were created and they were listed for $1,018. All of the shoes sold out in less than a minute.
Nike filed the lawsuit against MSCHF because the company does not endorse the sneakers. Lil Nas X has heard about the lawsuit, and posted a funny meme in response to insinuate going broke if he loses in court. “me after the nike lawsuit” the rapper captioned the tweet.
Daniel Greenberg, the shoe’s creator, explained where the blood came from – “Myself and some of my co-workers,” he said simply.
Miley Cyrus made sure to get her hands on a pair, flexing with them on Instagram. “Can you see Satan?” asked the pop star on her latest gallery, which shows her sitting on a vintage Land Rover. She tagged Lil Nas X on the shoes, proudly rocking them at a band rehearsal. “ONE OF THE BOYZ,” she added.
