The 2020 BET Awards were held virtually Sunday night and aired on both BET and CBS. The program opened with “I Just Want to Live” by Keedron Bryant. The performance was followed by an updated “Fight the Power” performed by Public Enemy, Nas and several other rappers. Da Baby performed “Rockstar”; at the beginning of the performance, he was on the ground with a knee on his neck. Wayne Brady performed a tribute to Little Richard. Lil Wayne performed “Kobe Bryant” with new lyrics to pay tribute to the ball player. Megan Thee Stallion, performed a Mad Max-inspired “Girls in the Hood/Savage” mashup. Beyoncé received the Humanitarian Award, which was presented by former First Lady Michelle Obama. Roddy Ricch, Chris Brown and Beyonce won two awards each.
