1. Two people are dead and six injured after a mass shooting at Florida State University Thursday. The shooter, the son of a Leon County deputy, is in custody and hospitalized. He allegedly used his mother’s old service weapon. (WMTW)
2. Governor Janet Mills says she’s “happy to go to court” over a federal lawsuit accusing Maine of violating Title IX by allowing transgender athletes in girls’ sports. She says the Trump administration’s complaint lacks legal backing. (WGME)
3. Governor Mills spoke at a tourism conference in Bangor Thursday and said she’s urging Canadians to come to the state this summer. Mills said. “The Canadians, they are our friends. And we want to keep them as friends and economic allies.” Mills says Maine and Canadian economies are intertwined and rely on each other. (WGME)
