1. The funeral for Pope Francis will take place this Saturday. The Vatican announced that the service will take place outside at St Peter’s Basilica.The funeral will begin at 10:00 am local time. 2. The Education Department will resume collections on defaulted federal student loan debt on May 5th, ending the pandemic’s pause on payments. More than 5 million borrowers are in default. (CNN)

3. Blair Witch Project star-turned-local official Heather Donahue is facing a recall in the town of Freedom. Residents accuse her of violating the town charter by painting orange blazes on trees without approval. The recall vote happens at today’s town meeting at 8 p.m. (WGME)

4. Bangor ranked as one of the cleanest cities in the nation. The American Lung Association’s new State of the Air report names Bangor and San Juan, Puerto Rico, the only two U.S. cities with top marks for both ozone and particle pollution.
