1. At least six are dead after tornadoes in Tennessee and Missouri. More storms are expected in Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, and Mississippi through Saturday. As of yesterday over 213,000 were without power across those states plus Ohio and Indiana. (CNN)
2. Leland Dudek, acting Social Security Commissioner, called Governor Mills a “petulant child” in an email after ending a contract that let Maine parents sign up newborns for Social Security numbers at the hospital. He admitted the move was retaliation for Mills challenging President Trump. Congresswoman Pingree is calling for Dudek’s resignation, accusing him of sabotaging services out of spite. (WGME)
3. A bipartisan group of lawmakers in Augusta want to make sure businesses accept cash. A new bill would require cash payments to be allowed for anything under $2,000. The Maine Retail Association says most businesses already do and calls the bill government overreach. (WGME)
4. >A 760-foot mural wall will appear on Main Street in Bangor this summer, created by 21 local artists in collaboration with Waterfront Concerts and Bangor Beautiful. The “Maine”-themed artwork includes a 75-foot section by Jared Goulette featuring the message “We hope you have a Wicked Good Time” in a vintage postcard style. (BDN)

The $5 snack includes Doritos Nacho Cheese chips topped with cheddar cheese sauce, shredded Monterey cheddar cheese, chopped tomatoes, onions, pickled jalapeño slices, and Baja chipotle sauce.
