Portland was one of 1,200 rallies nationwide, with events also held in Augusta, Bangor, and more. Protesters pushed back on federal cuts impacting agencies like the CDC. Sen. 4. UConn got back to the top of women’s basketball on Sunday. The Huskies defeated South Carolina in the NCAA Tournament Final, 82-59. The championship is the 12th for the school. UConn’s last women’s basketball title came in 2016. (ESPN)
5. Furcationland hits Portland this weekend at the Holiday Inn By The Bay. The furry convention, now in its third year, expects around 1,500 attendees. Catch furries downtown Saturday — a public meetup at Monument Square at 1:30, then the Free Street Fair on Free Street from 3 to 8 with music, food trucks, and a car show. Organizers say furry fandom is about creativity and community — not about identifying as animals or any of the common misconceptions. (PH)
