1. Vice President Kamala Harris accepted the Democratic nomination for President on Thursday. Harris is the first Black woman and first person of South Asian descent to accept a major party’s presidential nomination, and if elected, she would be the first female U.S. president. A UNH poll released Wednesday gives Harris a 17 point lead across the whole state of Maine. More surprisingly, the poll shows Harris leading Trump by five points in Maine’s Second Congressional District. (WGME)
