1. The Portland Police Department says a pedestrian was hit and killed by a train Tuesday night. Police say the incident happened around 8:13 p.m. near Morrills Corner. Police aren’t releasing any other details at this time. (WGME)

4. It was a Tuesday bathed in gold for Team USA at the Paris Olympics. On the track, Gabby Thomas captured the gold medal in the women’s 200-meter race, and Cole Hocker won the men’s 1500-meter. Twenty-year-old Amit Elor made history by becoming the youngest American ever to win a gold medal in wrestling. She took home the title in the women’s 68-kg division. In soccer, the US Women’s National Team advanced to the gold medal game by defeating Germany 1-0 in added time. The Men’s basketball team rolled over Brazil 122-87 to move on to the tournament semifinals versus Serbia. The US Women’s volleyball and water polo teams also advanced to semifinal action later this week.
