1. Both sides of Interstate 95 are back open after an incident on the Piscataqua River Bridge prompted a response from state police in Maine and New Hampshire yesterday. At about 3:20 p.m., authorities said a person in crisis had been safely taken into custody and I-95 had reopened in both directions. (WMTW)
2. Sen. Susan Collins of Maine joined astronauts, Olympians and activists on the British Broadcasting Corporation’s 2024 list of 100 influential women. She is 1 of 7 American women to make the list. The BBC recognized Collins for her work on bipartisan legislation, her advocacy of women’s health and her co-authorship of the National Alzheimer’s Project Act. (PH)
3. A round of winter weather arrives tonight. Snow will begin in the mountains around 6 p.m., and snow showers will extend all the way to the coast after 8 p.m. Expected snowfall totals are 4-8 inches in the mountains, 2-4 inches in the inland areas, and up to 2 inches at the coast, where it will mix with rain. 4. You are good to go to enjoy McDonald’s Quarter Pounders again. The CDC announced that the E. coli outbreak involving slivered onions at McDonald’s is over. The onions used on Quarter Pounders caused 104 people in 14 states to be infected. One person died, and 27 people were hospitalized. (CNBC)
