1. We could have only a few more weeks left of TikTok in the U.S. before the app is banned on January 19. A U.S. appeals court upheld the law that requires TikTok to be sold off from its Chinese parent company. TikTok plans to appeal the ruling to the Supreme Court. The company suggested it has not budged on its earlier stance that it would not separate from ByteDance. Over 170 million Americans use TikTok. (WMTW)
2. A propane gas leak forced the evacuation of Marshalls in Farmington on Saturday, sending two people to the hospital. Marshalls and the adjacent Rent-A-Center have agreed to remain closed while the issue is resolved. (WMTW)
3. Portland woke up Sunday morning to the city’s first noticeable snowfall of the winter season. Portland got about 1.7 inches of snow. A wintery mix is expected today into tomorrow. Tuesday morning’s commute could be slippery. (PH)
4. About 100 soccer players from across the state met in Falmouth for the first day of tryouts for the Hearts of Pine. Only a select number of players from Saturday’s tryout will move on to the open tryouts, scheduled for Dec. 13, allowing local players to compete alongside a broader talent pool of athletes. (NCM)
5. Santa arrived at Kennebunkport’s Christmas Prelude by lobster boat over the weekend. In its 43rd year, Prelude brings thousands to the York County town each year for an almost two-week-long celebration in early December. (PH)
