2. Manchester School in Windham was briefly placed in secure status Tuesday after a fourth-grade student reported a suspicious person near campus. Police later confirmed the individual was a nearby business employee with no weapon and no threat to the school. Doors were locked and visitor access restricted as a precaution, and normal activities resumed once the situation was cleared. (NCM)
The Maine DOC detailed how four teens escaped Long Creek Youth Development Center last summer. One broke out of a cell on July 18 and was caught hours later, while three left through an open gym door on August 15 and were returned that night. Security upgrades have since been made. (WMTW)
