1. South Portland police are searching for three masked suspects who robbed a Bank of America ATM near the Maine Mall. The trio assaulted and threatened an ATM technician with a gun Monday morning, forcing him to open the vault. They escaped with cash, and the case is still under investigation. (WMTW)
2. UMaine is joining a landmark NCAA settlement allowing schools to directly pay student-athletes. Starting in 2025–26, the university can share up to $20.5 million annually with athletes and offer more scholarships under new roster limits. The deal essentially ends the era of amateur Division I college sports and ushers in a new era of athletes sharing in athletic department revenue.
