There’s been 366 reports of “close-encounters” in the last two years. Some politicians believe the Pentagon is covering up evidence about extraterrestrial encounters. (CBS)

2. UPS and the Teamsters reached a tentative deal to stop a possible strike. A labor stoppage could have started as soon as next week and crippled US supply chains and been a multi-billion dollar hit to the economy. Teamsters President Sean O’Brien said, “This contract sets a new standard in the labor movement and raises the bar for all workers.” (CNN)

3. President Biden plans to visit Auburn on Friday, according to city Mayor Jason Levesque. It is not yet clear where Biden will go while in Auburn or at what time. It will be Biden’s first visit to Maine as president. (PH)

4. Portland is in the midst of a record-setting heat wave with Tuesday being the 27th consecutive day that the temperature did not fall below 60 degrees. The previous record was 24 set in 1988. Phoenix has had a record-shattering 25 straight days of temperatures at or above 110 degrees. (PH)

5. Jaylen Brown just signed the biggest deal in NBA history. The 26-year-old Celtics star has agreed to a five-year supermax contract extension worth $304 million. The contract will keep him in Boston through the 2028-29 season. (AP)
