3. Eight new firefighters graduated Friday in a ceremony at Portland High School. After nine weeks of intense fire and EMS training, the recruits are now certified and set to begin their first shift with the Portland Fire Department today. (WGME)
4. About two dozen dachshunds gathered for a sunny playdate at Bug Light Park on Sunday. Organized by Dachshunds of Maine, the meetup drew around 15 to 20 pups and their proud owners.
