1. Maine State Police are investigating after a body was found at Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth. Officers were seen near Portland Head Light, and a walking path toward the water was closed Thursday afternoon. (WMTW)
2. A Maine man is accused of driving onto Sunday River and damaging a ski slope before crashing into a ski lift scan gate. Deputies say 33-year-old Jesse Bates of Mexico caused over $45,000 in damage before fleeing the scene early Sunday morning. (WGME)
3.Dr. Nirav Shah, former Maine CDC director and key figure in Maine’s COVID-19 response, is returning to the state to lead a new public health education program at Colby College. Shah went on to become a top federal health official during the Biden administration. Shah said he is not discussing what led to his departure at this time — other than the change in administrations coupled with his desire to return to Maine — or his thoughts on the Trump administration’s approach to public health. 4. Duke star freshman Cooper Flagg suffered a left ankle injury during Thursday’s ACC quarterfinal win over Georgia Tech and did not return for the second half. Coach Jon Scheyer says Flagg is a “long shot” to play Friday against UNC. ESPN cameras showed Flagg in a wheelchair with his injured ankle elevated en route to the X-ray room. (USAToday)
