1. NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams’ have finally returned back to Earth after being stranded on the International Space Station for nine months! Their mission was only supposed to be 8 days long. They finally splashed down in Tallahassee, Florida’s Gulf Coast’s waters in the early evening on Tuesday. The two had circled Earth 4,576 times and traveled 121 million miles before finally returning home. (YT)
2. Teachers, parents, and students joined nationwide “walk-ins” Wednesday, led by the National Education Association, after major layoffs at the U.S. Department of Education. In Portland, crowds gathered at Deering High and Rowe Elementary to protest funding cuts. (WMTW)
3. Patagonia is suing Marden’s, claiming the retailer sold about 90 counterfeit items at its Scarborough store. The outdoor brand says the fake gear hurts its reputation and licensing deals. Marden’s says it believed the jackets were authentic and is investigating. The questionable items have been pulled from stores. Patagonia is seeking a jury trial. (WMTW)
4. Former Patriots center David Andrews visited MaineHealth Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital in Portland Wednesday, greeting patients, families, and staff. He handed out autographs, posed for photos, and even let fans try on his Super Bowl rings. (NCM)
