2. Secretary of State Shenna Bellows has formally announced she’ll run for governor of Maine in 2026. In 2021, Bellows was sworn in as Maine’s first female Secretary of State. Governor Janet Mills is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third consecutive term. (WABI)
3. The NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and Old Farmer’s Almanac agree on a potentially dry spring for New England. The Farmer’s Almanac is predicting a cool and wet spring. (WGME)
4. Duke University freshman Cooper Flagg has been named the winner of the 2024-25 Oscar Robertson Trophy, the U.S. Basketball Writers Association’s national player of the year award. (WMTW)
5. IG’s parent company, Meta, is introducing the Schools Partnership Program. Teachers and administrators will be able to intervene when students experience online bullying. Schools that take part in the program will have any harassment reports fast-tracked for Meta to handle within 48 hours. The program is currently being tested at 60 schools, and results have been “promising,” according to Meta. (engadget)
