1. A 73-year-old man was hospitalized Saturday after driving off the Frye Island Ferry Landing in Raymond and into Sebago Lake. He escaped the sinking car with help from a bystander. The ferry was not docked at the time. The vehicle was recovered later that day. (WMTW)
2. Two teens were charged with felony arson after allegedly trying to set a neighbor’s Rockland home on fire Friday night. A witness chased them off and gave police info leading to their arrest. Police say the incident appeared targeted. (WGME)
3. A ceiling collapsed Friday in a classroom at Carpenter School in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Fire crews had just arrived after reports of sagging and falling light fixtures. All students were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported. (WGME)
4. Over 3,200 students graduated from the University of Maine this weekend, including a record 779 earning advanced degrees. Commencement was held off campus for the first time due to renovations at Alfond Arena. (BDN)
5. Shelby Howell of Bangor was crowned Miss Maine USA 2024 on Sunday in Portland. The pageant drew national attention with standout contestants, including Jordon Hudson—girlfriend of Bill Belichick—who finished second runner-up, and Isabelle St. Cyr, the first openly transgender contestant.
