1. Former Portland ed tech, Benjamin Conroy, was sentenced to 22 years in federal prison on Monday. In August 2022, Conroy admitted he sexually abused a 6-year-old, who has autism. He bragged about it and shared photos on a dating app. (WGME)
2. Portland this morning will start clearing out the homeless encampment along the Bayside Trail. While city shelters are full, transportation costs associated with helping a homeless person move in with a friend or family member will be covered. (PH)
3. Danielle West became Portland’s first female city manager on Monday. She was officially appointed after serving on an interim basis since November 2021. (WGME)
4. At Wentworth-Douglass hospital in Dover, NH, nine employees on the operating room staff are pregnant, and a tenth just had a baby this month. The hospital says more girls are expected than boys in this baby boom. (WGME)
5. Portland landed the No. 7 spot on U.S. News & World Report’s ranking of the country’s “best places to live.” That’s a notch up from the city’s position for the past two years. Green Bay, Wisconsin, ranked No. 1. Portland was also ranked 4th among safest cities. (PH)
