1. A Rockland school bus driver involved in last week’s fatal crash had two recent accidents on his record. A new report shows 12-year-old Brayden Callahan did everything right as he crossed at a crosswalk, but driver Jeffrey Colburn pulled forward without seeing him — the bus’s crossing arm wasn’t deployed, and he was leaning away from the road. Police say Colburn passed a sobriety test, and his bloodwork is pending. He’s now on administrative leave as investigators and the DA consider possible charges. (WMTW)
2. French authorities have made four new arrests in the $102 million Louvre jewel heist. Two men and two women from the Paris region were taken into custody. The October 19th theft included major historical pieces, like a diamond-emerald necklace from Napoleon and Empress Eugénie’s pearl-and-diamond tiara. (AP)
3. The Maine Turnpike Authority says Wednesday will be the busiest travel day of the week, with traffic up about 2% from last year and even higher than the record levels of 2019. To avoid the worst congestion, leave before 11 a.m. Thanksgiving Day will be lighter, and Sunday is expected to be the second-busiest. With wet weather in the forecast, AAA reminds drivers to use headlights, slow down, and never drink and drive. (WGME)
4. Monday Night the Patriots take on the Giants at Foxboro. It will be a My Cause My Cleats game where the players will wear custom cleats supporting causes they are close to. Eamon White from Portland, ME designed Drake Maye’s cleats to support Special Olympics MA. (NBC)
5. Hot Radio Maine’s 13th Annual Free Turkey Giveaway went down yesterday at the Wells IGA. We gave away 200 Free Turkeys. This year we partnered with Maine Credit Unions Campaign For Ending Hunger. An additional 100 turkeys were provided by this year will be provided by That Place in Ogunquit. Sides were provided by M.C. Perkins Cove (Corn, Green Beans, Gravy, Instant Mashed Potatoes, Cranberry Sauce and Stuffing). Scott McDonnell from WMTW Channel 8 also joined us this year. (HRM)
