3. Portland International Jetport is refusing to play a Homeland Security video from Secretary Kristi Noem that blames Democrats for the government shutdown and travel disruptions. Airport officials said the video was too political and didn’t meet TSA requirements for operational messaging. Other major airports across the U.S. have also declined to show it. (PH)
4. Netflix has signed a deal with Spotify to bring video podcasts to its platform. The new partnership will deliver a curated selection of Spotify’s top video podcasts to Netflix. The lineup will span a range of genres, from sports and lifestyle to true crime and culture. According to a new survey, 72% of podcast listeners said they prefer shows with video. (CNBC)
5. A court has denied a motion to dismiss a lawsuit against Arby’s. A New Yorker filed a claim saying that Arby’s was exaggerating its quantity and quality of its meats in sandwiches in its photo and video ads. Other consumers say they wouldn’t have paid full-price for their sandwiches if they had known what the sandwiches actually contained.
The suit also claims that Arby’s shows rare roast beef in its ads when the meat is actually fully cooked. The suit is hoping Arby’s will reimburse consumers and correct what it calls its “misleading advertising” practices. (AOL)
