1. Police are investigating after a woman’s body was discovered in South Portland in a wooded area near the Home Depot on Clark’s Pond Parkway on Tuesday. They are calling the death suspicious. The victim has not yet been identified. (WGME)
2. At least six high school soccer games in northern Maine were postponed as smoke from wildfires in Canada moved into the state. An air quality warning was issued. While it is OK to be outside, officials warn that breaks should be taken and to not partake in intense activities. (WMTW)
3. The New England Patriots will honor Tom Brady on Sunday at the team’s home opener. Pats owner Robert Kraft said “The greatest player in the history of the game played right here in Foxboro, and I’m happy to tell you…I invited him back to come here and be with us at the opening game.” (WMTW)
4. A purple deer is popping up in Cape Elizabeth. The deer has large, bulbous masses on its chest and jaw, and it appears to be turning purple. The deer could be suffering from a number of conditions. (WGME)
5. Wendy’s announced the debut of their new Pumpkin Spice Frosty and Pumpkin Spice Frosty Cream Cold Brew starting September 12. The frosty will join the brand’s signature chocolate flavor. (CB)
