1. A school bus crash in Gorham Wednesday morning sent three people to the hospital with minor injuries. Five were on board, including three kids, when the bus collided with a minivan near Gorham High School. Police say everyone was shaken up, but all injuries were minor. The crash is still under investigation.
2. Starting this week it costs more to get a concealed carry permit in Maine. New permits from State Police are now $50 for residents, renewals $35. Non-residents will pay $80 for both. (WGME)
3. Instagram continues to be one of the most popular social media platforms. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that Instagram now reaches three billion monthly users. IG made it to two billion monthly users in 2022. (EG)
4. U.S. District Judge Melissa Damian dismissed a lawsuit against Hershey claiming that Reese’s candies misled customers with Halloween-themed “jack-o-lantern” and ghost packaging that did not match the actual chocolates inside. The judge ruled that the lack of details on the chocolates did not cause economic harm to consumers because the candy was still edible. The lawsuit targeted Reese’s Peanut Butter Pumpkins and Reese’s White Ghost. (CBS)
