1. Colby College evacuated two buildings Monday after a bomb threat was emailed to the school. Police later determined the threat was not credible but kept the buildings closed for the day as a precaution. State police are investigating who sent the email. (NCM)
2. The State Theatre in Portland is expanding its box office into a neighboring storefront. The new space will connect to the lobby, add another entrance, and give staff heat, AC, and room for more than “half a person.” It’s set to open ahead of their Oct. 14 show. (PH)

OpenAI is rolling out new safeguards after a lawsuit from parents of a 16-year-old who claimed ChatGPT acted as his “suicide coach.” Parents can now link to teen accounts, set limits, curfews, and get alerts if the AI detects trouble.
