I got to catch up with members of the Portland Flames — Timothy, Claire, Abbott, Noel, Jack, and Coach Justin — to celebrate the end of their soccer season and talk about what’s next for this unified Special Olympics team!

They’re fired up for basketball season and an upcoming skills lab with the Maine Celtics. Team members also shared their favorite hype-up songs — from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” to “Get Your Head in the Game” from High School Musical — and reflected on their accomplishments, including Timothy’s second-place finish in individual skills at the Special Olympics.

Beyond the field, the Flames are busy with activities like acting and health messenger work, continuing to spread their energy and positivity throughout the community.
