1. The gunman in the deadly shooting at a Rhode Island hockey rink has ties to Maine. Police say 56-year-old Robert Dorgan was an active employee at General Dynamics Bath Iron Works. Maine State Police say they had zero prior interactions with Dorgan. Bath Iron Works confirmed he was a current employee and extended condolences to the victims’ families. (WMTW)

4. Costco is recalling certain restaurant gift cards that are now worthless after the issuing company, Synergy World, filed for bankruptcy and shut down operations. Costco is making an exception to its usual return policy and offering full refunds at warehouses. Maine law dictates that gift cards never expire. But when a company goes bankrupt or abruptly closes, it usually leaves consumers with little to no way of recouping that money. (WGME)

A federal judge has tossed a class-action lawsuit against Buffalo Wild Wings over its “boneless wings.” A Chicago man claimed the item was misleading because it’s made from breast meat, not actual wing meat. It was ruled that “boneless wing” is a common industry term, and reasonable customers know they’re not literally deboned wings. The chain celebrated online, joking their hamburgers contain no ham and their buffalo wings are zero percent buffalo. (NBC)
