A third man has officially pleaded guilty in the 2002 murder of Run-DMC’s Jam Master Jay. Jay Bryant changed his plea in court on Monday. He admitted his role as an accomplice to the deadly ambush inside a Queens music studio.
Prosecutors accused Bryant of sneaking into the building. He then opened a back fire door to let the other attackers inside. Investigators found Bryant’s DNA on a hat left at the crime scene.
His uncle provided a shocking account to authorities, claiming his nephew admitted to shooting Jam Master Jay. The uncle also said the DJ “reached for a gun.” The other two suspects had close ties to the victim. Bryant had almost no personal connection to him.
