1. A 47-year-old Westbrook woman was found dead Sunday after disappearing while walking along the water near the Pleasant Hill Driving Range in Scarborough. The Maine Warden Service Dive Team recovered her from about nine feet of water. Police and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are investigating the cause of death. (WMTW)

2. A new poll shows Maine’s U.S. Senate race is essentially tied, with Democrat Graham Platner leading Republican Sen. Susan Collins 49% to 47%—within the poll’s 4.8-point margin of error. The survey found the economy, control of Congress and candidate character are the top issues for Maine voters. (PH)

3. An Extreme Heat Watch is in effect for parts of western and southwestern Maine from Wednesday through Friday. Heat index values could reach 105 to 110 degrees as temperatures climb into the 90s with tropical humidity. The dangerous heat is expected to last into the Fourth of July, with only scattered thunderstorms offering brief relief. (WMTW)

4. Some Bank of America customers may be eligible for a settlement over claims they were charged two out-of-network ATM fees for a single balance inquiry at certain 7-Eleven ATMs. Current customers will receive payments automatically, while eligible former customers must submit a claim if they receive a settlement notice. (NS)

5. Scientists say scratching a bug bite actually makes it worse. Researchers tested the theory by putting tiny “cones of shame” on mice to prevent them from scratching, and found scratching triggered more inflammation and swelling. Experts say the itch can fade in 5 to 10 minutes if left alone, but scratching can keep it around for up to a week. (AP)
