WWE is returning to Portland and Jacob Fatu is ready to bring the action to the Cross Insurance Arena! I got to catch up with Fatu ahead of WWE Road to Survivor Series: WarGames, coming to Maine on November 5th.
Since making his WWE debut, Fatu has quickly made his mark, but some of his favorite moments have happened away from the spotlight you might expect. He reflected on winning the tag team titles alongside Tama Tonga in Cleveland and the surreal experience of seeing his own face on a WWE truck!
Coming from one of wrestling’s most famous families, Fatu also opened up about the importance of creating an identity of his own. While he’s proud of his family and the legacy he represents, he wants fans to know Jacob Fatu for who he is in the ring and on the mic. Even his “Samoan Werewolf” nickname, originally given to him by his uncle, grew organically into part of the performer fans know today.
Fatu also shared what he would tell his younger self after the journey that eventually brought him to WWE: stay on the right path, have faith and trust that brighter days are ahead. He credits his wife, children, faith and family with helping him get where he is today.
As for what’s next in the ring? Fatu has plenty of names on his list, including the Creed Brothers, J.D. McDonagh, Gunther and Ethan Page!
Fans will have a chance to see Fatu and WWE live when Road to Survivor Series: WarGames takes over the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland on November 5th. Fatu teased a night featuring WWE’s men and women, established stars and rising talent – plus plenty of action you can only experience live!
