1. How cool is this? A dinosaur fossil with preserved tail feathers and skin has been found in Alberta, Canada. The Ornithomimus is thought to be 75 millions years old and it is the most complete feathered specimen found in North America.

2.  Election results are in! If you went out and voted, thank you! A couple highlights – Portland voted NO on a $15/hour minimum wage and also NO on preserving scenic views. For a complete list of coverage, click here.

3. The Maine Principals’ Association announced Tuesday that Maine Public Broadcasting Network will not be providing wall to wall coverage of the 2016 Basketball Tournament. Dick Durost, President of the MPA, said in a release that “due to lack of equipment and manpower,” MPBN would no longer broadcast the semifinal and regional final basketball games as they have done for the last 36 years.

4. L.L. Bean has gone outside the company for the first time in its 103-year history for its new CEO. The outdoors retailer told employees Tuesday that it has tapped the chief merchandising and marketing officer of Chinese online grocer Yihaodian. “We are very pleased with the selection of Steve Smith as our next President,” said Shawn Gorman, L.L.Bean Chairman of the Board.

5. Here’s a great excuse to not rake up all those leaves! The National Wildlife Federation  says dry, dead leaves are important habitats for all kinds of critters including butterflies, salamanders, chipmunks, box turtles, toads, shrews, earthworms, and other creatures. They live, lay eggs in or eat from leaves, according to NWF’s plea with the public to let the leaves stay where they fell!
