Ebony Banks who is a senior high school student is battling stage 4 cancer. She had always dreamed of meeting Beyonce because Beyonce is one of her biggest idols. With Bank’s friends knowing the love she has for Beyonce, they started the hashtag #EBOBMEETSBEYONCE hoping that Beyonce would see.

Within just a few days, the hashtag got trending which got Beyonce’s attention. Beyonce FaceTimed Ebony, which was of course a very magical moment for Ebony.

A stage four diagnosis of cancer has kept Banks out of the classroom much of the year. In an effort to help make one of Banks’ biggest dreams come true, her friends have started using the hashtag #EBOBMEETSBEYONCE on social media. “(Banks) is a really big fan of (Beyonce) and she has so much love for her that we really want to get (Banks) to meet her,” said senior Cristal Depaz. “Beyonce is one of her idols. She admires her so much, so we’re trying to put that on Twitter and Instagram to get Beyonce’s attention,” said Gutierrez.
